March 12, 2010 – Clackamas, OR – Earth Mama Angel Baby announces today that Angel Baby® Lotion is the first product manufactured in the US to be certified to the new NSF/ANSI 305 American National Standard for personal care products made with organic ingredients. The NSF/ANSI 305 standard is the first, and only, American National Standard to define organic labeling and marketing requirements that contain organic ingredients.

“Earth Mama Angel Baby has always been an industry leader in product safety, and to have the honor of being the first product manufactured in the US to the most credible standard for organic personal care products makes us very proud,” said Melinda Olson, founder of Earth Mama Angel Baby.

“The USDA NOP has always been the highest standard,” explains Olson, “but the original standard was developed for food products and doesn’t take in to account the chemistry required for some personal care products. The new NSF/ANSI 305 certification is a specialized standard for personal care products, such as lotions and shampoos.”
