Sustainability Statement

At Earth Mama Angel Baby, we are just as serious about taking care of the Earth and her resources as we are about taking care of mamas and babies. That's why every decision we make incorporates environmental concerns, from our packaging, to the herbs we use, to the toilet paper that hangs in the company loo!

Here at EMAB HQ we use only 100% post consumer recycled paper in our office printers and fax machines. We buy used office furniture, so we can give keep reusable goods from packing the landfill. We wash and reuse 5-gallon pails, for storage, laundry and compost, and we even got special permission from our county to recycle any pails that we can't use. We compost kitchen garbage and herb waste from the lab. We even cut up used office paper for scratch paper. And since we're an organic facility we use only earth-friendly cleansers when cleaning up the place!

We brag about our BRAG (Business Recycling Award Group) award for our green packaging practices, which include recycled and recyclable paper boxes, and biodegradable tea bags and overwrap for our teas (which are compostable too!). Our tea boxes are manufactured using wind energy, and use 100% recycled and recyclable paper with 35% Post-Consumer content. The BPA-free plastic PET bottles and jars we use are the safest containers for both our products and our customers: colored to keep out harmful UV rays, and the most readily recyclable and safest plastic manufactured. We purchase only recycled unprinted newsprint from local printing companies to cushion our shipments, and we make sure to reuse any packing peanuts and bubble wrap that have been sent to us. We even reuse cardboard boxes for shipping and for the warehouse.

We carefully choose herbs that are organically and sustainably grown, and harvested using fair labor practices. We are proud members of the Organic Trade Association, American Herbal Products Association, American Botanical Council and United Plant Savers groups that focus on the mindful farming and use of plants and herbs.

We've built a community, locally and worldwide, of people who think like we do. We buy from ecologically minded suppliers and award our business to companies who support what we do. From USDA certified organic lavender, to fairly traded shea butter from Africa, to Booby Tubes™ made in a local, sweatshop-free factory, using organic cotton, it comes down to the fact that we care. We care about safe products for mamas and babies, and we care to take care of the earth while we make those safe products available. We're nice people who care about nice people, and the earth we share. We do our best to be what we believe in, and we take extra care to make it happen.
